Day 30 – Prayer Focus – “Fellowship with God”

1 Corinthians 1:9 – “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”

God wants to have fellowship with us. Fellowship in Greek is the word koinonia.  It means intimacy, communion, and fellowship. It is translated into the word “communion” when referring to the communion supper. The communion supper is a place of intimacy between God and the members of the Body of Christ. Jesus said, “Do this in remembrance of me.”

Our fellowship with God must be through His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. There is no other way to have communion with HIm. We can only have fellowship with God by trusting in what Jesus did for us on the cross. He was our living sacrifice. He gave Himself so we could be forgiven of our sins and have fellowship with God the Father.

Meditate today on what it means to have fellowship with God. Thank God for the blood of Jesus Christ that cleanses us from all of our sins so that we can have fellowship with Him. Praise God that we can “walk in the light of God” and have fellowship with one another. Rejoice that God loves us with an everlasting love and nothing can separate us from Him. God wants to have fellowship with us!!

1 John 1:5-7 – “This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
